it seems that there is a problem with the TeXLive repo for F15, namely
package texlive-release is missing:
yum update
Loaded plugins: langpacks, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
Setting up Update Process
Resolving Dependencies
--> Running transaction check
---> Pack
