Strange thing just started occurring using NGINX in front of zeppelin.
Curious if anybody else has run into this.
We have been using NGINX for quite some time (a year or more now) to manage
HTTPS certificates, and basic auth in front of Zeppelin
pretty much exactly as described here:

Curious if the interpreter holds a JDBC connection open, and if that connection
ever times out (closes), does the interpreter + JDBC interaction have a way to
reconnect?
I have the JDBC interpreter connecting to MySQL - works well.
However after a few minutes of not using the notebook - running
