In wmii-3.9.2, setting gnome-terminal to fullscreen works as expected.
When I use wmii-tip and I engage fullscreen, gnome-terminal takes up
the full screen, but simultaneously seems to cease updating and/or
lose focus. If I mash the keyboard when it's fullscreened, nothing
happens; then, if I un-f

ebian). When I get to the WMII install, if the issue with

here.

I have a fresh Ubuntu 10.10 install, and compiled and installed the
tarball of wmii 3.9.2 via 'make deb' and dpkg.
When using the default sh wmiirc, I have to manually set WMII_CONFPATH
to ~/.wmii, or it tries writing to "/.wmii/foo". I set this in my
~/.bashrc, which does make it into my environm

I was poking around the python alternative scripts, and noticed that
wmiir takes 'setsid' as a command. Poking into the wmiir source, I
see that 'namespace' is also a command.
These should probably be documented in the man page, and definitely at
least in the usage output of wmiir.

FWIW and IMHO, Python has the only multiple inheritance structure I've
encountered that made sense and was straightforward to understand.

Yes, xcompmgr is silly eye-candy ... but it used to work well
alongside wmii 3.9b1, and no longer does in tip.
My day-to-day setup involves mostly Emacs and rxvt-unicode, and I tend
to use playing video on the root window as a convenient way to keep

I follow 5 or so projects on suckless, and like to package up specific

Simply, is there a single rss/atom feed for the entire collection?
It's easy enough to grab the specific ones I want, granted, so mostly

David,
I worked with the people at Kitware, Inc. for a while (here in
beautiful upstate New York), and they wrote and maintain CMake [1]. I
believe KDE, IIRC, has used CMake for a while now (which is at least a
testament to the complexity it can handle).
IMHO, CMake does not have a great syntax,
Odd - my gut reaction seeing the title made me suppose it was for

I'd like to restart the window manager. In this instance, all my
clients are dead anyway, so restarting wmii at that point is somewhat
pointless.

Suraj,
The new release looks interesting. I spent a bit of time yesterday
porting my settings over (a bit of a hassle, since I was working on a
WMII-type DE using ruby wmiirc setup as a base). I definitely like
the breakdown -- it's going to be *very* easy now to do minor edits

with "until wmii; do :; done", so maybe the problem of non-dying
wmii's lies there.
Thanks for the points and info.

The second 'pid' should've been 'ppid', but I think the parenting is
still pretty clear in the original ps list.

I'm using the sunaku wmiirc setup, with some modifications, from

pretty basic setup. I had some X updates, so I decided to finally log

Suraj + all,
I'm running the 3.9b1 release here, on a Gentoo Linux system. I'm
running Suraj's latest wmiirc, from the git repo, with (so far) minor
additions.
I've editted my config.yaml a bit (making it very task/project based),
but generally haven't altered the basic functionality yet. I'm

How do you launch a wmii session? .xinitrc?
In experimenting with using env vars, based on various needs I have, I
found that exporting from wmiirc, and re-running it, works in a pinch
as well.
In your case, are you using .xsession/.xinitrc? If so, I would export
the needed vars there, or source

Yes, all those ruby gems are needed, if you plan to use the ruby

None of them are currently in portage. I added use flags for ruby,

Hey all,
I tend to lurk.
Here's my Gentoo overlay for wmii, attached. Martin's updated ebuild

shipped alternative wmii scripts, including dependencies and such.
I've also updated the dependencies, which include removing libixp,
