Probably this repository is already what you want to do:
https://github.com/apache/pulsar-adapters
It contains a lot of different stuff that we don't keep in the main pulsar
repository.

I have found this PIP only because someone tagged me on slack
I am not 100% sure about the proposal, compaction is a tricky mechanism and
the PIP on GH doesn't provide many details about how this new mechanism i
