we do have a slack and irc channel. Since we use twitter & facebook I
see no generic issue to open a discord server.
However we need then people to care. Who would help moderate the server?

I don't think it's disturbing. Indeed, OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia (and
other Wikimedia projects) have their discord server (in English and French).
