And we have plans to fix the issue on the server once 4.1.8 is released for a
week or two.

It is indeed broken (it has been for some years now) but fortunately it is
already fixed in version 4.1.8 to be release really soon
Now available for testing and review is the 2nd Release Candidate for
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.8.
Pre-built community convenience binaries can be found at:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/openoffice/4.1.8-RC2/binaries/
With source tarballs available at:
https://dist.apache.org/repos
On one computer I use I hadn't yet downloaded version 4.1.7 of OpenOffice.
I thought I would try using the "Check for Updates" button in the "Help"
menu instead of going directly to the sourceforge download, but I am seeing
an error message in this window :
STATUS: Checking for an update failed.

About 2 months ago I switched to Verizon FiOS and their "gigabit" account... I
get about 950Mbps up and down.
S much better than the Xfinity account I had before we I topped off at
maybe 20Mbps up.

All the Linux 32, 64 and macOS builds, as well as sources, are on the dev
server... It also looks like all Windows are there as well, right?
