On one computer I use I hadn't yet downloaded version 4.1.7 of OpenOffice. I thought I would try using the "Check for Updates" button in the "Help" menu instead of going directly to the sourceforge download, but I am seeing an error message in this window : STATUS: Checking for an update failed.
