There are a few git issues raised (and still open) by Alan C Assis which imply
CI has diverged from local checkpatch/nxstyle usage but no one appears to have
looked at them in over a month?

CI on GitHub seems broken, looks like some PR broke tests and builds.
Change was not marked [BREAKING] and processed according to rules.
Now we have broken code, CI, and still merging PRs that do not pass CI
verification.
