with an IT and would like to merge this back to trunk.

Ancestors are dependencies, you cannot build a project without its
parent... You just don't reference them in a dependencies section is all!
I think it actually would suit perfectly in dependency:tree (esp when you
consider that crazy people can and do put dependencies in parent projects
in order
