Starting from a long time ago contributing to Flink does not need
contributor permissions. If you have any issue you're interested in, just
comment in that issue that you want to contribute and ask a committer to
assign that issue to you. Alt

You no longer need contributor permissions. You can simply create a JIRA
ticket and ask to be assigned to work on it. For some reasons[1], only
committers can assign a
Jira ticket now. You can also take a look at the Flink's contribution
guidelines [2] for mor
