I appreciate this action started.
My experience related to FOAF files:
I didn't know about local mentors and FOAF until I visited community
development web site. I've tried to add, but that time it didn't work, so I
gave up.
+1 for asking people at Apache Con and

Note that the ASF's VP of Conferences has a page that will list Meetups
and similar events that are run by Apache projects:
https://events.apache.org/event/meetups.h

This list looks outdated. README about how to update the list gives 404.
Can any Apache Project committer update it? If so, I could update this page
from time to time:
- Once I've shared Apache Ignite meetup link
- and I saw one request to update this list at com.dev list recently.
