Piotr,
The point of the Log4j update and the release is to show that version of
Log4j is formally tested and supported.
This removes any guessing game for users.

The following is intended as a helper and refresher for reviewers.
Validating a release candidate

need is assertEquals().
Junit-pioneer OTOH is a fantastic library. Actually useful.

Please revert "{@link java.lang.String}". The java.lang package is
automatically in scope, just like in Java sources.
I don't use Java 8 to build because it's EOL and doesn't generate the
search box. FWIW, all release sites I've built recently were done with Java
17.

-1 you are undoing the port to JUnit 5. This commit is a classic JUnit

avoid construction of failure message strings, which, as a pattern, add
processing, can have side effects, and always creates more garbage. This is

d code. If that is indeed the case, then I feel we can hold off on
a 2.0 until we truly need to break binary compatibility for something more
than the removal of cruft, unless there really is a ton of it.

Shading is the mother of anti-patterns and a nightmare. IMO, it should only
be used as a workaround in the most dire situations.

If you modularize, then put pack200 in a module... the reason it's there is
because some apps broke when Java removed the functionality.
