If you add WordUtils.java back "as is", you can probably create a couple of
good "newbie" entries on the Apache "Help Wanted" site to attract people to
Commons-Text.

I changed the new item to "commons" and deleted the old one.

I opened two "help wanted" items for Apache DataFu a few months ago. Both were
linked to specific Jira issues - one a generic "wish", and the other a very
specific, entry-level task.
Unsurprisingly, the generic one is still open, but the more specific item was

Who has permissions to update the Commons Text project page? It's
unfortunate that under "Release Information", it says "There have not been

Hi Benedict, Bruno -
I can see that commons-text might be a better home for this functionality than
commons-lang. But is the project still active? There haven't been any commits
in the past year, and there seem to be no maven binaries available

I've created a JIRA issue, https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LANG-1266, and
a pull request for this: https://github.com/apache/commons-lang/pull/188

Hi Simo,
I'm not sure I understood how BitSet
had to face
similar issues in the past and, if that feature was available would have saved

I just have a small request/suggestion: since int/char can be casted to each
other, I would use BitSets rather than Sets.
