To whom it may engage...

Project commons-jelly-tags-jaxme has an issue affecting its community

I just removed them, and commented retrotranslator stuff.
I'll wait for Retrotranslator 1.2.4 to be available on central to enable
backport.

This is a temporary fix to missing artifacts in maven repo.
I'm in discusion with retrotranslator developer to get them in repo soon.
I'm sorry to say I like java5 but still have to support java 1.3 even on new
projects due to good old Websphere 5 servers used by my customers ...

Seconded about jars in svn. It's just clutter.
Perhaps if an apache project needs a jar for a project that has not yet
published it, the jar could be placed in the apache snapshot repo?
A custom groupid, like "external.example.foo" or "tmp.example.foo" (instead of
the real group "example.foo")
I really dislike adding jars to svn - better IMO to try and get the
project to publish the 1.2.4 version and use 1.2.1 in the meantime.
Also for a new component I think better to just support java 1.5
