Heya,
An easier solution could be to explicitly start the scripts with /bin/sh. No
need to set executable bits anymore, this makes a lot of stuff easier when
handling scripts.

Hi Chris,
I didn't change which files had their permissions set to executable.
You should see a problem if you register a template and are using S3 secondary
storage.
You're welcome to rejig the pom.xml. Make sure that Jetty uses scripts with
their permissions set to executable.

No. Thanks. I will abort this vote.
I actually have another substantive change to make, but I didn't want to
make it along with some stylistic changes. But I don't want to tire the
list out. So I may combine them, as I am sure headers are non-controversial.

Tom is using devcloud, which seems having a different mount point for SR
from actual hypervisor. We are still investigating, glad to hear that your
blocker defect https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-2583 is
verified.

I see a lot of commits with only ticket numbers as commit messages.
This is not very descriptive and makes me suspicious
Greetings,
What is the easiest way to manipulate a script to allow a instance to get a
second IP address? I know it would require some fiddling with ebtables.
Please provide some additional information, and method to permit this please.

Assuming you don't care about pool sanity, then add an alias script to the

I understand how to add the virtual interface on the guest. However, doing so,

Does this extra subnet require a GW? Or is it Guest to Guest on Guests in an

I am not utilizing advanced, I am utilizing basic; which I know can be done,
via editing the ebtables, but I cannot recall how to do this. Yes, this
secondary subnet requires it's own gateway.
Ok so this would make it very difficult to achieve. With Advanced zones you
have the flexibility to make some of this stuff work. Basic was not intended
for this purpose. Advanced zone with SG enabled would give you the tools needed
to accomplish your goal.

Well there are rules on the VR for sure, these are not persistent so any

The VR is the first place to mess around in.

I was mainly trying to point out that ACS has the tools to meet almost any
architectural desires, and that perhaps your selection of BASIC zone is not the
best match for what you are trying to accomplish.
It might be advantageous to build out a second zone to explore the correct
services needed
security groups are managed by the agent calling
/usr/share/cloudstack-common/scripts/vm/network/security_group.py. You
may be able to tweak that script, or call it, to have your desired
result. it IS basically just an ebtables edit.

Perhaps I'm reading this incorrectly. It looks like once 4.2 has completed
(which is planned for next week Monday) that we should have two months
after that before 4.3 is feature frozen.
Unless I recall incorrectly, 4.3 feature freeze is the end of next month
(about six weeks after next Monday).
Folks our planned RC date is on Monday 8/19 and we have a bunch of blockers and
critical to take care of. I hope we can bring them to resolution by Monday
morning PST.
Sebastien I also need help on getting translation taken care of, Jessica and
Radhika are planning to wrap up new feature docs
