I think that it's great. It can't run anything as low-level as KVM, but for
anything else it works perfectly and shares the windows filesystem in /mnt/c/
I've run Ansible, Sphinx, Middleman, Kubeadmin, NPM etc in it.
You _can_ use multiple WSLs, and switch between them, although I hav
