FWIW, I've had at least 5 users having problems with the new Ant 1.6 launcher because they had unexpanded environment variables in their CLASSPATH. I can almost trace adoption of Ant 1.6 in this company just by questions about the IllegalArgumentException they're all getting. I suspect this is not

Well, we at commons-net would have been rushing the release to meet ant's "deadline" and there are internal refactorings which we would have liked to have included that we were planning to postpone in the rush, but now will take the time to get right, so I doubt that commons-net-1.2.0 will be do
