I had installed updates, and then I restarted my computer.
When the boot finished, the login screen looked distorted.
The desktop was the same. I tried restarting unity but the same happened.

I had to force-shutdown my machine, and I booted an older kernel (which
is the one in the bug report), the proper kernel version in use at the

in use at the time of the crash) or gnome-shell.
