I just installed the Binary-Packages:

Being a more or less "normal" user, I find this behaviour highly
unexpected.
When I decide for auto-login, I do decide that access control to my
computer is carried out by my house door and its locks, I do not want to
be bothered with password prompts after every resume.

I don't use the scanner daily, so I'm not completely certain. But as far
as I remember, the problems started in ubuntu 16.04 with a kernel 4.4.x.
At that time, I tried to go back to a prior kernel version, but that
failed for nvidia video driver reasons.
There is quite a number of problem reports

So the question now is, which icon set does Nautilus choose?
The Theme is Ambiance.
The icon theme in the index.theme is ubuntu-mono-dark

My display has a resolution of 2880x1800. I need to zoom the display
otherwise I cannot read anything. That's why I zoom 1,62 (on the Macbook
13", 1,5 achieves the same result).
Also, I like the icons to be at 150% but in List-View I am more

3. Select print from Menu (Print Preview does it as well)

The same problem applies there as well. However, resorting immediately
after the first sort produces the correct results.

Taking the input of lazerousz I tried my procedure again.
It printed this time.
What had changed: I have selected LibreOffice native print dialog first and it
worked
I reverted to using Ubuntus print dialog and it worked as well
So where was the problem (which nagged me the whole morning):

site and installed on a plain machine.
The sorting does not work here either.
Colums are sorted: ADCBFE
I did not have the chance to get a look into the sources. So I'm afraid
I'm of little help here.

Using the native Ubuntu print dialog and the template attached, the
crash is reproducable.
