Sorry to say that I think this a problem isolated to your install. It could be
that Docky is what is launching the extra processes. Did you perhaps add
something to your session startup script, perhaps there are some scripts in
/etc/pm/sleep.d?

Ah, in which case this is "not a bug (tm)".
We need extra plumbing between the X events and the media menu. At the
moment there is no event generate by the media menu when the multimedia
hotkey is pressed, so we can't pass the event in to the webapp.
This would be a cool feature though!

But I also tend to use the "feel" of the icons to navigate quickly, and

I have installed GNOME Shell 3.28.4-0ubuntu18.04.1 from proposed.
I have tested this fix by dragging an icon up and down the launched with
my finger and dropping on it on icons. In the past I could lock up the
shell very easily. Now I can't get it to crash at all.

Printer is a Samsung C430W connected over wifi and using driverless
printing. Everything is discovered and I can print in colour just fine.
In Bionic I was able to toggle in to monochrome, but in Disco I am not.
I now have to print everything in colour.

To add a bit of clarity, I can't *choose* to print in monochrome from
and of the UI. The system print dialog shows no options to select

We've made a decision to ship the new Yaru themes light and dark as
options in EE, not as the default.
The default will actually be "Yaru Ambience" which is a very similar
visual style to the traditional dark window header bars as in Disco.
