GUys, this was the worst upgrade process ever. It took several hours of
tending and clicking. keep replace, keep replace...How the heck am I
supposed to know how to reply to that when I don't even know what the

I just installed Ubuntu 14.04 and I'm using Nemo 1.8.4 since Nautilus
doesn't support an extra visible pane anymore (F3). I believe Nemo is
based on Nautilus and I've got the exact problem as mentioned in this
bug report. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

I'm hitting this exact same issue with a different device, it's a
development board that communicates over USB CDC (an Adafruit Bluefruit
Micro, a little bluetooth LE microcontroller board). The device has
similar behavior as the mentioned MediaTek preloader where it implements
a very basic USB CD
So this is definitely a bug with ModemManager as far as I can tell. I
disabled the service completely by running:
sudo systemctl mask ModemManager.service
Rebooted and my device works perfectly. It stays as the expected
/dev/ttyACM0 device even after it resets itself and I don't see any
hanging
Oh nice thanks for the workaround, just tried a similar udev rule and it
seems to work great. Re-enabled modem manager service, applied the MM
ignore value with a rule, and can see the /dev/ttyACM* port stays the
same between resets of the device. We'll add it to udev rules we tell

I'm pretty sure this is an unrelated problem. Could you please file a

It appears that this may be related to an enhancement/fix which auto-
unlocks the phone when FlightMode was toggled and a PIN-locked SIM was
inserted. This works well ( at least with one PIN-locked SIM
installed... I didn't try two ).

I just made both NM tasks Incomplete as:
* there's no device information, nor reference to branch or image
number. In fact, it's hard to tell that this is a "touch" bug.
* there are no "steps to reproduce"

So confirmed that adding a case for
NM_DEVICE_STATE_REASON_MODEM_NO_CARRIER in device_state_changed ( nm-
device-modem.c ), causes the connection to be blocked from auto-
