Same card, same problem. No sound from the analog input port even
though the software "thinks" it is receiving data (i.e. ALSA is sending
silence).

For anyone following, the referenced patch is not available in kernel
3.8. 3.11 does contain the patch.
However, after upgrading, analog capture still does not work. Instead,
on switching capture channels, I see "capture write error (DMA or IRQ
trouble?)" in dmesg and the capture application eit
Right now I'd just settle for working analog line in capture. Any more
ideas?
