gnome-shell 3.8 provides background plugin via mutter thus we need to
disable the g-s-d background plugin under GNOME.
This fixes the ugly transitions where the default wallpaper is shown
before and after gdm loads.

I have a logitech wireless mouse. Upower is reporting 1% battery most of
the time, when in fact its really at 75%. In fact it seems to oscillate
between correct and incorrect readings about 10 times per hour.

I have the same issue as Lionel, with my wireless mouse oscillating
between reporting the correct percentage and 1%. I can confirm that the
above git branch resolves this issue.

Running gnome-shell 3.8 on gnome-settings-daemon 3.6 is likely to be
very buggy and unstable. Although admittedly it hasn’t had a huge amount
of testing since the assumption was that we would get g-s-d 3.8 into
saucy.
