The problem occurs with both printers I tried, either Epson SX115 or
Epson CX3200, eithern USB-connected or thru the network.
When locally USB connected, the printers are properly identified and
correct drivers are proposed (from the control panel interface). Only

Problem solved (for me). This was an apparmor issue, and "sudo aa-

Obviously we disagree on some aspects, I'm not going to answer in too
long here because you're right on one point : a bug reporting tool is
not a web forum, so this is surely not the right place for arguing for
pages.

About having to find the different setup tools in the applications menu
or system settings panel, I can share a couple thoughts :
1/ In the past it seems that a number of optional applications (i.e.
gparted) found their way into the config panel if installed, and not if
not installed. It worked 6
About discussing all these issues in the Wiki or elsewhere, all of these
are mostly developpers tool, to decide things in advance. But the very
purpose of beta versions is to get early user feedback, which will come
as bug reports and feature requests rather that on developer's forums,
mailing-list

There are good chances, and that would make bug #862139 a duplicate of
the present bug.
"xset q" shows DPMS is active with all of its timeouts set to 600,
although no such thing should be set according to my control panel
settings.
xset -dpms turns it off, but I'll have to wait until I watch a mo
The matter is that an external monitor is turned into standby/suspend by
using DPMS , not barely displaying a black image...
Furthermore, all this had been perfect for years (on same system) and
has been broken by upgrading Natty => Oneiric Beta.
