security of "eduroam" (to correct an error) and now I have two entry for
it. At the same time, the system manager switched on protection for
eduroam-guest, and now I have the two listed.

I recently switched form Unity to Gnome Shell on 11.10. When Banshee starts, it
is not reported on the volume indicator applet --- which makes a bit difficult
to stop it :-)

wireless network after the connection is done.

Although I have no more the crashes reported in bug#305546, the SVG
thumbnailer is still working suboptimally. Sometime it stops a long time
(you have to stop the nautilus window and the reload with F5), and then
the previewed image is not correct. See for example the SVG file

Given that this is a "design" problem, and it is not listed in the new
features of release 3.5, I doubt it could be magically been fixed. But
anyway, I'd love to test it --- can anyone point me to instruction on
how to test "beta" version alongside with the "normal" one? I am on

I can confirm the apparently crazy behavior that Phil reported. The file
from Phil, when put in the home directory, crashes nautilus with the
following error (NOTICE: it's a crash in glibc!)

Yep, confimed. Every time I am hoping to see a scrollbar added... Yes, I know
default MUA is now Thunderbird (so that you don't have shared calendar
working). But TB as even worst problems... try bug#151162 for example (5 years
old only).
How can we have a real desktop revolution without a sane
As ever, all the last discussion is forgetting the user (like myself) which
likes to have several windows on a big screen AND focus follow mouse. Global
menu and focus follow mouse is a no-no unless the window is maximized.
Not all devices are tablet, not every user use their desktop as a big tab

By the way, the algorithm of "the last one" is not sufficient. Suppose I
go to a nearby university, I can connect to eduroam (general access
network), and do it. Then I came back to my university, where there is
both eduroam and my local university network (with more privileges). I

case, the network seems connected but dont't work (no DNS, no
connectivity). A

It happens the same to me. Basically, the UI *seems* to be usable, but
when you click nothing happens (at most you have another tab doing
something that will never finish at the bottom). When you try to exit,
the UI grays out, and then nothing works.
I have not tried to let evolution in that state
@Adam: isn't 12.04 a LTR? --- BTW, I ended up switching to radeon open
source drivers. Forget 3D game playing, but for the normal desktop it's
running ok.

I still think that the worst problem of this bug is that is _seems_ to
work, and can lead to data loss. It would be much better to forbid the
