My apologies, @fossfreedom. I forgot to upgrade/downgrade the snap- plugin package and didn't notice it being removed. I've repeated the test in the above comment, including package `gnome- software-plugin-snap` and all tests now passed. Unfortunately I don't have access to a clean install to test
