when I'm using KDE and I switch to another VT, when I get back into KDE
the X server is eating up all the CPU (of one core). After a few
minutes it settles down.

I have ran the tool a few times because it seemed to be crashing - at
first it wouldn't run at all complaining about missing PyQT, so I
installed python-qt-binding; then it seemed to be crashing due to
missing pathlib, so I installed that as well and ran it again.

libinput 1.8.4 from Artful and that returned the RMB click functionality
(though of course many other things that rely on libinput >= 1.9 broke).

I've installed and tested Norbert's PPA and it works great. I have
ALT+SHIFT set as the layout switch shortcut and with the PPA I can now
use Eclipse's ALT+SHIFT+ keyboard shortcuts.

to wait until it was safe f
Have the same issue upgrading from bionic to cosmic. Updating appstream
to the version from cosmic workedaround the problem.
Please backport fix to bionic so that other people will be able to
upgrade using the Ubuntu normal upgrade process.

The problem is in an incorrect interaction between KDE's KCM audio
configuration module and PulseAudio's default configuration in Ubuntu:

Noel: thanks for providing this applet replacement - its a shame I
wasn't aware of this before. Due to this and a few other issues I
migrated my laptop to KDE on Fedora so this issue is no longer relevant
for me.
