Hello,
Even if it seems that this bug is due to Unity, as workaround for Cairo-
Dock, we will not enable this Logout applet in the default theme. (The
logout applet is not very useful if you have another panel which also
have a "logout" applet)

Hello and thank you for maintaining nm-applet packages!
With the latest version (0.9.8.4-1ubuntu1), nm-applet is no longer launched at
startup on non Gnome-Shell sessions (e.g. on Cairo-Dock session).
It seems this is because this patch is no longer applied:
git_dont_autost
But do you have an Intel IvyBridge 4000HD as everybody else who has this
bug here? And are you using default video drivers of your distribution?

The latest version of gnome-menus has renamed applications.menu file:

It's not a problem for Cairo-Dock because if this file is not found
[$XDG_CONFIG_DIRS/menus/${XDG_MENU_PREFIX}applications.menu] the dock
will check first with some prefix (gnome-, kde-, etc.) and then check i
