Did you do the dkms command (modified for your kernel version) after
changing nv-pat.c?
If not, try that. And if that doesn't work, you could try removing and
reinstalling your current kernel version; that should cause dkms to
rebuild the nvidia module.

Certain PostScript files fail to render correctly in Evince.
See the attached example document. It has three pages but when loaded into
Evince only the last page is shown, upside-down.

with usb 3.0 although the scanner is well recognized. I have been
testing with kubuntu 12.04 and kubuntu 13.10. With both the scanner
works with the old usb 2.0 notebook and does not with the new one.

available updates for Raring and this freezing issue with Firefox and

I got a crash of gsettings-data-convert after restarting from my
Precise->Quantal upgrade. Only on the first login though, it doesn't

I had the same in Lubuntu 12.10 (History: Freshly installed Ubuntu
12.04 today, dist-upgrade to 12.10, then installed the Lubuntu
packages). I noticed that it looked funny before it crashed (screenshot

Try adding the line shown above to /etc/rc.local, that fixed the
brightness changes in X11 for me. Now it moves 1 step at a time in X11,
however the brightness cannot be changed at all when not in X11! (That
is, in text mode pressing the brightness up/down key has no effect.)
