I don't see this menu.
However it's different from the problem of the bug, because if you have other
applications opened, it's really slow to go to the desktop to open new windows.

Since updating to Ubuntu 18.04 from 17.10, the discrete GPU is no longer
turned off.
I see since https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-
prime/+bug/1757180 the way to turn off the discrete GPU has been
changed, I suppose that's what caused the regression.

I've seen that the desktop file in /usr/share/applications contains the "New
Window" shortcut, so the problem is only the downloads' progress bar.
There are two choices: integrate the UnityFox extension (maybe doing a unique
extension with firefox-globalmenu) or use Unity Launcher API in Firefox
