mixed. I used the touchscreen for a while without issues. But then xorg
crashed (and this report was a crash in gnome-shell). Apport refused to
submit the bug reports because apparently there were a few not-updated
I ran another test of using the touchscreen and managed to make gnome-
shell crash. It looks like apport uploaded it this time, but I couldn't
figure out where it put it. I attached the *.uploaded file associated
with the reproduction. There's some other files in /var/crash, but I
guess they should

Tried 5.9.1 mainline kernel and got the same issue. The only difference
is Wayland recovered much faster (under 1 min). I didn't wait after
recovery to see if system will lockup completely and rebooted with

Turns out high CPU Usage and slow UI issue is unrelated, it was due to
CPU governor reset to powersave and always using min frequency.

I never isolated a way to reproduce this bug, and I haven't encountered
it again (even with keeping the extensions enabled). In fact generally
the gnome-shell crashes have largely stopped. I'm not sure at what point
that was, but for at least the past few days, things that would often
crash gnome-s

As a workaround I'm currently doing rmmod btusb && modprobe btusb after
every boot which seem to do the magic. Attaching the dmesg for that just
in case.

Everything was fine on this PC with 14.04, but it doesn't display anything on
16.04.
It doesn't hang because I am able to press CTRL+ALT+F1 and push the power
button and it shutdowns normally.
Booting with "nomodeset" works (with slow software rendering of course).
Upgraded
In the attached XorgLogOld.txt you can see the log when trying without
"nomodeset", it detects the monitor correctly and the X server doesn't
hang...
