The desktop does not show up though gdm3 is running.
I see the following error messages which might indicate a dependency
issue:

should run debian/firefox.preinst which is responsible for installing

What do mean you by "import existing profile from the deb"? This was an
update from snap to snap that failed.
I have deleted the old snap and changed profile.ini to point to my old

Whenever I try to launch /snap/bin/firefox I get a popup that Firefox is

ps -aux does not show any such process.
Rebooting and deleting lock files in ~/.mozilla does not solve the problem.

I am using KDE with Wayland.
The application icon for Thunderbird should be a blue dragon. But
instead the task manager shows a white 'W' on brown ground which seems
to be default Wayland icon. See (appended taskbar.png)
