Public bug reported:
This began when I upgraded to Ubuntu 15.04. My workplace is in a place
in which the wifi signal from my network is weak. So, sometimes, it
loses the signal. A quick solution that sometimes works is turning
(either through hardware or gui) the wifi off and back on again.

I get thin tinny sound.
On ubuntu 19.10 I was able to work around this by running:
sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x14 SET_CONNECT_SEL 0x0c
But that doesn't seem to work on 20.04 and I haven't been able to work out what
I need to do to get sound working acceptably.
ProblemTyp
Played around with hda-analyzer and managed to get half decent sound.
I've added the python code it generated.
But I don't know how to configure things so that the volume keys adjust it.
Attachment of the python should be below.

This is a problem for us as well. We're using Docker as part of our
toolchain for creating a file system for a disk image for our product,
and need to be able to run "prime-select intel" during the Docker image
build, at a time when grub has not been installed yet.

@diddledani The error does have an impact on the Firefox snap running
under KDE, which I can only presume does some poor parsing of xdg-

default browser.
BTW, the patch in https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-

I had this problem and the attached patch for xdg-settings worked for me
(see my comment at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-
utils/-/merge_requests/52#note_1488548).
With this, the Firefox snap recognizes itself as the default browser for
me (Kubuntu 22.04), whereas previously it would not.

I had a look (https://searchfox.org/mozilla-

Hi Dariusz, just tried the 3.13 kernel build from your ppa and it
didn't leave me without network this time. But still doesn't show me two
separate monitors on display settings. My two U2414H daisy chained are
shown as one single monitor and they display mirrored.

Hi Dariusz,
The command above you request me didn't output nothing for me on the
console, it executes but doesn't show me any results.
I will try when back home to install the linux-image-extra package with
the kernel 3.16 and check if that resolves my network missing problem
under that kernel.
Hi Dariusz,
Installed 3.16 kernel together with the linux-image-
extra-3.16.0-23-generic package from your source again and this time as
Matthew states the network problem is solved. But in my case it still
doesn't display my two monitors separated on display settings. Remember
I'm still on 14.04
Hi Dariusz, just tried 3.13 from your ppa including this time the extra
package also and I got the same result as before, my monitors still
appear as a single one in display settings.
