Is causing problems installing FGLRX driver, as well as long delay
between log in and desktop display. I also get a CLI login prompt that
disappears after 20 seconds or so then a graphical login prompt appears

I have an issue I believe related to this issue, I'm fine when I unplug
my charger but as soon as I plug the charger back in I get the critical

Found this fix and it worked for me, though I know my issue differs from
a lot of yours. Also I'm not sure of the consequences of adding this
conf key, perhaps someone more technically gifted can chime in.
Open a terminal and copy in:
gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/gnome-power-
manager/gene
I have the same issue as everyone else, nothing much else to add. I
don't recall these being generated in prior Ubuntu versions.
Just a thought since others have suggested removing Ubuntu one solves
the problem and others that logging out before shutdown does. It would
seem something needs to be c
