I tried my suggestion and while I figured out that 1800 is the correct

There is a workaround for this issue which is to leave one of the
monitors unplugged until after login. It's lame, but it will allow one
to boot and then work within a multi-monitor setup. I get this error
with Intel Video 4000 when driving two monitors via HDMI and VGA
simultaneously.

+1 for this issue. For me it happens on Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10 with
Thunderbird 17.x. Essentially, all pop-up dialogs happen on monitor 1
when Thunderbird is running on monitor 2. Other programs do not have
this problem.

I hate to say this, but I believe this behavior is by design. I created
an issue like this long ago and it got rejected

Public bug reported:
The default remote desktop application in Ubuntu 11.10 does not provide
an option to set the resolution of the remote desktop. It defaults to
800x600 and cannot be changed, thus rendering the application unusable.
A workaround is to use the remmina application instead.

I have a home directly with a lot of files (about 100GB...maybe 500,000
files) -- mostly for software development purposes.
Everytime I do a fresh install of 12.04 (x64) I have a problem with
Rhythmbox whereby when I first run it, it hangs for about 5 seconds
every 3 seconds.
Brand new system76 laptop here running 12.04 64bit and seeing this exact
same behavior.

I can also confirm that I am seeing this in Ubuntu 12.04 with Gnome
Image Viewer 3.4.2. A few years ago this worked and now it doesn't!
Anyone have a workaround?

One workaround I found for this is to use HUD to access menu items. Tap

Looks like the default app in 12.04 is Remmina, which doesn't have this
problem. If Ubuntu isn't going to use Vinagre as the default anymore
then perhaps this issue should just changed to "Won't Fix" or "Fix
