Public bug reported:
After updating, the headphone jack went scratchy and no sound comes out
it.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10
Package: pulseaudio 1:2.1-0ubuntu4 [modified:
usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/analog-output-headphones.conf]
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-21.3
I was able to fix this via:
ben@padfoot:~$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base-local.conf
options snd-hda-intel model=generic
So I suspect that the issue is that the incorrect sound module is being
initialized:
12: PCI 1b.0: 0403 Audio device
[Created at pci.318]
I haven't run 12.10 in a long time...so I can't comment on it.
