can type or something like that to "flush" the memory xorg uses? Or is
the only available workaround to restart xorg?

Sorry for the late response. I don't have the scanner any more and I also
switched to fedora, so I can't test any updates.
But in 2014, I know that I had the same firmware as Jürgen, so I don't think
that was the problem there.

Dear all, are you sure the bug is fixed? Or are there any other bugs
wich lead to this behavior (extensions disabled after login)? I switched
back to KDE because of this bug, but with ubuntu 15.10 I began using
gnome, again. The last month, the extensions were only about once a week
disabled, for n
