Recently unearthed the power supply to my flatbed scanner after being
without it for a year. In the interim, I migrated to a newer computer
running Ubuntu 23.10 Mantic.
I have added myself to the saned and scanner groups. and have logged
out, and logged back in again, as well
I see that there's an upstream patch that's apparently pending. Do we
know when that'll make it into the distro? Will it enter 22.04 LTS or
miss it?

Ahh.. Perhaps they have been conflated the two somewhere in amongst all
the tickets here marked as duplicates. I'm talking about the bug where
focus remains on browser window, rather than file dialog, requiring
pointer device interaction to target the newly opened file dialog... as
opposed to focus

Sorry it took me awhile.. run as requested following lockup..
It seems initially it still responds to keystrokes, lets you open new
tabs.. but then eventually the whole UI freezes, and attempts to close
with the X will get the app DNR dialog.

I launched chromium with:

... then kept an eye on it. Once it got stuck and stopped rendering
things, I found the attached portion repeating until I killed it off
with killall chrome.
I could initially still open a new tab and
... so this bug probably needs to be bounced to a GTK package.. but

I run Unity as my desktop environment at the moment. With a recent
update, the file save dialog presented to me by Firefox appears to have
changed. I'm pretty sure it's an OS dialog and not a Firefox specifi
gvim does not do the same thing, and to create a new folder, it has
"Create Folder" button.
gedit DOES do the same thing, and to create a new folder, it has a "+"
button.

"folder1" and I've typed in ../folder2 and pressed ent

On the upside, Ubuntu 19.04 now handles my unusual desktop geometry, and
displays desktop icons within physical monitor dimensions (I have one
landscape, one portrait display).

and then was able to "apt --fix-broken install" the updates to the gles
packages that had been broken..

I went to add a Kyocera Mita FS-1030D+ with an IB-21E NIC.
1. Tapped Windows key
2. Searched for "printers"
3. Saw list of printers already added in settings app in printer section
(Two printers originally listed - one not connected, one auto-added by network
detection)
4. Clicked "Add" button in
I've gotten around the bug by:
