I just re-installed TB 115.6.0 from scratch on a completely new Laptop
(Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen 11) running Ubuntu 22.04 and I see exactly the
same behavior there as on my old laptop. I will have to revert to TB 91
as any newer version is essentially unusable for me.

I commented out "airscan" in /etc/sane.d/dll.d/airscan, and now simple-scan
sees just the one device, presumably discovered now simply from libsane and no
longer from sane-airscan? -
but the result is still the same - an over-large left margin, and loss of image

Just to give a data point, mesa/23.3.3-1ubuntu1 fixes many issues with
snaps and LibGL on my laptop, namely:
- white blank screen when opening firmware-updater snap
- no OpenGL hardware acceleration but software rendering only in chromium snap,
and missing background effect in Google Meet because
Test on Dell OptiPlex 7400 with gnome-shell 3.36.9-0ubuntu0.20.04.3
- login the online account and grant access of calendar
- check the the calendar in the notification panel, the events look fine
without any issue.
