Frankly I didn't remember this bug :) it's a machine in not using much
anymore but I think at some point the problem stopped happening.

Installed the Firefox snap package, while leaving the Lubuntu
21.10-provided Firefox .deb package installed.
Launched LibreOffice Writer to see what the Help function did.
*It launched a Thunderbird compose window.*
Firefox snap package was then removed. The Thunderbird installation is
the snap
