Login screen never appears on vmwgfx using b
Interestingly, I left virtual machine with not working Nautilus running,
and few hours later found that Nautilus started after all. So it's not
like it not working at all, it's just take few minutes/hours to show the
window.
I restored virtual machine backup created yesterday and this was

I know it looks like it does not recognise the image format,
but using this command fixes the issue, in fact i added this command to my
/etc/rc.local so i can keep apparmor up and running, after that it generates
all the thumbnails correctly for the differents formats of ebooks, and it

If the location and shape of the problem never changes then one possible
explanation would be small areas of failing RAM on the graphics card.
It might also be a software bug of course.

I mean if it is a hardware problem then it might come and go depending
on the resolution or which area of graphics memory the driver is using.
But when the problem does appear, if it keeps appearing around the same
area then that would suggest a hardware fault.

After upgrading to Cosmic Cuttlefish yesterday when I came to reboot gdm
seemingly was unable to start. There was not much in the logs, and after
much tinkering I discovered that after the Ubuntu splash screen if I
pressed Alt + F{N>1} then pressed Alt+F1 gdm would imm
