It's not realistic to enable this option in the official builds. It is
suitable only for a distribution build like Ubuntu's where we can

Using nvidia-graphics-drivers-experimental-310 drivers *also* fixed it
for me!
However, having other machines with the same problem, this did not seem
a reasonable solution, so unblocked and removed nvidia-graphics-drivers-

I had a similar problem simple scan couldn't find my HP Officejet Pro
8500 network printer/scanner, but only sees my locally attached USB
webcam. I installed hplip-gui and it didn't recognize my printer. I
manually added it via it's IP address and now simple scan recognizes my
printer. Thanks!!

I went to System settings ... Sound and noticed my speakers were put to
