Apparently the patches for #1034928 didn't make it upstream for the
release of 12.10 as I'm experiencing this very same issue after
upgrading to 12.10.
Could somebody upstream please make this a priority and include it in

language-pack-ko-base (or something like that) had a CONFLICT in its
properties dialog box with language-pack-gnome-ko (or something like

I've just upgraded my computer from 12.04 to 12.10. I use chromium as my

Same problem here (12.10 64Bit).
Restarting lightdm didn't work for me. All I got was this black screen
with a blinking cursor. To get to a working desktop anyway, I
(temporarily) switched to gdm by doing:
1. [alt+f1]
2. $ sudo apt-get install gdm
3. restart machine. when gdm loginscreen comes up

took care of it by deleting ubuntu computer keyboard works fine on

Congrats to finding a solution, and thanks for letting us know about it. :)
But dependency conflicts are indeed bugs as well. One way to fix it would be to
simply remove those language-pack-gnome-ko-base branches in precise-proposed
and oneiric-proposed. Or it could be fixed in debian/co
No I checked, ubuntu-destkop was not installed, so I installed it and rebooted.
Everyting is fine now, all my files, links and direcories have come back and my
desktop is fine now.
