Just upgraded from Ubuntu 20 to 22. Nautilus freezes every single time I
use the search function.

I am having the same issues, resetting tracker3 solves momentarily the
issue, but after a time it comes back.
Also, I can't open a second Nautilus Window (from a bookmark in the
dock), and when I try that Nautilus crashes.

haven’t been able to catch the output or why it freezes. I have upgraded
from 22.04 and previously from 21.10. As a heavy user of Nautilus for my
work this is a
Search appears to be unrelated in my case.

The problem seems to be related to the search provider, can anyone
confirm?
As soon as I search anything in Gnome Activities overview, Nautilus
hangs. If I disable Settings > Search > Files, I experience no hangs (of
course, I lose file results in the overview when searching, too).
