Desktop freeze
same happens on my i5-2500K desktop following upgrade from 14.04 to
14.10; interesting to note that I do have one user that is able to log
in and work as if there is no bug, while others (including guest and any
new one I create) can't

On installing Nvidia drivers (nvidia-331) am able to login to System.
