I was having the same problem and was able to fix it by building and
installing the ibus packages from the trusty sources.
Perhaps installing the trusty packages directly will work too.

To be honest, this bug makes it difficult to use ibus in Ubuntu. It's
possible to work around the problem by avoiding typing near the bottom
of the screen, but there are some situations where this is difficult to
avoid.
