I know I've definitely seen the same thing since Thunderbird 14.0 in
Ubuntu 12.04 (fresh installation). This sounds like a duplicate of bug
#1025935 showing the issue with Thunderbird 15.0 (the current version).

- Since a few releases of thunderbird the scroll bar is in a ugly gray
+ Since a few releases all scroll bars of thunderbird are in a ugly gray
(see attached screen-shot). The color is not changing if you change the
