Chris, that's what we've done in the other patch submitted to you for
this same feature. A nativeHandleGetter interface is defined, and
implemented for Gdk.

The patch breaks ABI, so we can't include it in its current form without
making our builds ABI incompatible with upstream builds (which is bad
for anybody installing binary addons, because they'll make our builds
crash).
