I just notice that the problem is even bigger.
If for some reason you changed the default English language and leave
the pc idle , eventually after a while the lock screen will hit.

I have the same exact problem in 12.10 running the latest updates
Im crashing to the login screen without any errors to the Xorg.log
... whenever i try to play a video .
What i did is uninstall my nvidia 310 drivers ( that was working
perfectly , i only got this problem today though i was u

Same features should work out of the box and this is one of them , it
is obvious that Ubuntu doing it wrong here.
Sharing is so mixed and complicated in ubuntu
we have "shares-admin" from the terminal
we have personal sharing - gnome-user-share that
Any news on this ? It is a shame that we dont get this fixed after so
much time , given that we allrdy have the patch..

I just tried to reproduce it in a Guest Session and i was successful .
Its was exactly the same as my main user account
A Hint might be to try to press volume up or down key and keep it
pressed ( so it actualy loop ) , i use it like this and it only take 3

I just checked that the problem doesn't appears on the gnome-contacts.
If i open gnome contacts i can see the online status of them as i
should.

I dont think that the problem is on the "gnome-themes-standard"
because im not using the default gnome menu icon but im using the
"faenza-icons-mono" as you can see on the screenshot that i have
