I now removed Kernel 3.18 again and rebooted. Still working fine for a
good while now with the fix mentioned in my last post.

just installed all update of last 3 weeks or so (still running on newer Kernel
as described above) but still not working reliably (not longer than 20 minutes).

just updated to Kernel 3.18 as described in the post above. After reboot
I got disconnected again and a dialog with this error came popped up:

can't check kernel version at the moment (as I have to post form Windows
again) but today it failed again but this time I got a popup error
message as follows:

the latest kernel seems to be working much better for be, as even after resume
I get working wifi. Unfortunately it fails after a while again (without suspend
or power save, just in the middle of surfing). Likely my issue this is now more
related to i.e. Bug 1320070

i.e. this page https://nsupdate.info/about/ is using the font UnBatang
for the icons (i.e. a house icon for home link) in the title bar. they
appear as some kind of arabic letters to me that I can't read instead of
looking like icons (like it does when using Chrome from the same PC)

actually it now works for me when adding this ppa:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:langdalepl/gvfs-mtp
sudo apt-get update
apply all updates and restart computer. found the info here:

connecting and browsing with nautilus is fine with my HTC. Copy Camera-Pictures
to Linux works fine too.
But now copied files onto that phone from a WinXP and when wanting to copy
those files towards Linux I get the error:
"Error getting file: -6: Not Supported"
The file size is 368MB

deactivating firefox addons like QuickTime helped in my case. Maybe have a look
