@joecarey
are you using nouveau or an nvidia based graphics card? If so then
perhaps people with non integrated intel graphics can use your new bug
report seeing as how this one has become an intel onboard only bug?
If not then is someone with nvidia graphics able to start a new one?

There are probably a fair amount of people who also get this bug happen

I had the same thing with using the 3.8 kernels, could go several days
without an issue but then had 2 freezes in the space of a couple of
hours.
I have had to go back to windows 7 for now but i keep subscribed to this
thread in the hope that this bug finally gets resolved but it seems like

12 hours isn't long enough to declare this bug solved, i have gone 4-5
days on one of the 3.8 kernels without a freeze and i thought it was
solved but then it happens.
I'd say if you go a couple of weeks without a freeze then maybe it's
solved,keep us posted.

This bug happens for me on all flavours of linux inc
mint,fedora,opensuse,arch
I always run 64 bit flavours but if you are running 32 bit and getting
the same bug then i assume it affects both 32 and 64 bit.
I have an nvidia g210 card and it happens on both nouveau and
proprietary drivers.
Unfortunately the freezes are still present for me with the 3.8 kernel
although they seemed to be less frequent and i went nearly 3 weeks
without one they are still there.
I have had to return to windows and will no longer be using linux until
this is fixed or i buy a new computer which will likel
Matt C have you tried the latest 3.8 kernel?

What you are describing sounds like a different bug to this one, this
bug is related to random full freezing where the gpu locks and mouse and
keyboard are unresponsive and the computer must be manually restarted by
holding the power button down.
I have had success with kernel 3.8 on both ra
Still no freezes and now on kernel 3.8 rc3 64 bit , because i am using
ringtail then maybe the combination of 3.8 kernel and updated x org and
compiz packages may have solved the issue for me.

The freezes happen for me not only on debian based distros but in fact
every distro, the only one so far which hasn't had it happen is ubuntu

I was getting the freezes with both nouveau and the proprietary nvidia

I know it's not a release critical bug but to have one of the system
